Massimiliano Grandoni

by Xavier Speeleveld

Often my scenes are animated by characters still, stable and when they find themselves to act, appear low-cut action from the action happens. They deny possible live suspended in perennial stasis on becoming, scrutinizes into the abyss that opened just below their existence aware that act and accept the deception of the action is maybe the only possible alternative, the ultimate lesson to assimilate: to accept that the reality does not meet and rejoice in this, accept the limits and the absurd of being matter laugh and die, is the only possible.

Mark Nystrom

by Xavier Speeleveld

Mark Nystrom is an artist and designer whose work explores visualizations of complex information and includes drawings, installations, projections and screen-based projects.

These black and white drawings are based on Beethoven’s symphonies. To generate the drawing, invisible circles of different sizes are assigned to sound frequency bands. These circles spiral away from the center at different rates. When circles intersect, lines can be drawn if the music is playing at high enough levels in their corresponding frequencies.  Source : marknystrom.com

Roman Noven

by Xavier Speeleveld

«Tania Shcheglova and Roman Noven are two emerging photographers who have been experimenting with high quality cameras since their perhaps not-so-innocent youth. From frozen lakes to empty theatre stages across Eastern Europe, the duo have snapped haunting images of the surroundings available to them, often emanating a dark or eerie mood». © DAZED

Bea Mahan

by Xavier Speeleveld

Welcome Barcelona !

Comments of Bea about her work

Prints, papers and collages inspire me not only because of the graphic outcomings but also because of the long process that involves creating a matrix, handpull a print or manipulate paper. I feel myself fascinated by the sudden effects that I found through the process. There are many accidents generated that I can incorporate to the pieces of art. The mistery of not knowing exactly the result I am going to obtain makes me feel completely trapped by the process, since it seems to me that materials are alive. Metals and cardboards become matrices, those receive ink that become stamps, fibers become a sheet of paper, paper scraps arranged together to create something new. This is a marvelous.
